I really enjoyed the Secret Circle. More than I thought I would. Scoop? Well, when EW caught up with Thomas Dekker recently, the actor revealed that his favorite episode so far has been the fourth one because “it’s when the show catapults into a much darker, more mature, aggressive tone, which is what I’m attracted to.” Also, “it gets gory,” he teased. Question: I’m totally hooked on The Secret Circle! Would you happen to have any scoop? Ausiello: Britt Robertson says the show’s Halloween episode will be chock full of tricks and treats. “When you have witches and Halloween, it can be fun to make fun of certain things,” she says. “What I love about what Kevin [Williamson] and Andrew [Miller] did is they weren’t trying to ignore the fact that we’re witches on Halloween. … We play with a lot of different, funny things. And one of our directors, Liz [Friedlander], who is a big part of our show, was saying, ‘The great thing about Halloween is that scary things can happen in the middle of the night and there’s people roaming the streets. You can scream [but] nobody really takes notice to it.’ So that’s kind of the fun element that we get to play with a lot.”

Whats coming up on The Secret Circle? NATALIE: Fans of the books may be excited — or angry, for Adam and Cassie shippers — because the first inkling of something deeper between Cassie and Nick may soon be coming. „Its very, very possible,“ Britt Robertson says very, very coyly. „Cassie and the Armstrong family will have some sort of relationship blossom.“ So thatll make it a love pentagon? Question: I know that Nick died on The Secret Circle. But it’s a show about magic, so I gotta ask: Is Nick gonna stay dead? Ausiello: As a doornail, Camilla. EP Andrew Miller, meanwhile, reveals that the next few episodes will shed more light on who Charles is and the nature of his relationship with Dawn when they were younger. Furthermore, “It wouldn’t surprise me if Charles has ideas about their relationship that perhaps Dawn isn’t entirely aware of,” he hints. “And that may have to do with things in their past and perhaps his hopes for the future. Their relationship will become increasingly complicated as we move forward.”

I still cant believe Nick is dead. Who or what is actually coming after them on The Secret Circle? NATALIE: Its not just demon snakes who are trying to slither their way into the coven — and if you listen very closely, theres a hint at whos really behind this mess in this weeks episode. In possibly related news, Cassie will begin to look into the missing side of her family. „Shes been mother-obsessed because her mother so recently passed away and its so shaken her world, but she doesnt know very much about her father, for reasons she doesnt entirely understand,“ executive producer Andrew Miller tells us. Look for Cassie to start investigating her dads side of the family tree very soon.

The Secret Circle | Peanut butter meets chocolate when The CW’s supernatural newbie celebrates Halloween next Thursday. “You can expect a lot of sexy costumes,” exec producer Andrew Miller promises with a laugh. “Halloween’s a big holiday for our group because it’s the one day of the year they can really be themselves and no one notices. It’s a fun episode to let their witch flag fly free!” Ay, but therein lies the rub. “The problem is they’re not the only ones trying to blend in, and they get into a lot of trouble,” Miller warns. “They set out to have maybe the best Halloween party that any of them have ever experienced, and it goes badly pretty quickly.”

NATALIE: Executive producer Andrew Miller says that the arrival of All Hallows Eve will cast a spell on viewers. „The Halloween episode is wickedly fun,“ he says. „Not just because they get to dress up in insanely sexy costumes, but its just the one time of the year when they can let their freak flag fly and no one really notices, because everyone else is doing the same thing.“ But they wont be the only ones, and the kids mysterious adversaries will take good clean fun into the realm of the dangerous.

Is there any hope for Adam and Diana on The Secret Circle? NATALIE: Sorry to break it to you, Jaime, but Diana is moving on. „Shes going to be struggling for a bit,“ executive producer Andrew Miller says, „but you cant keep that girl away from love because shes too amazing, so there will be love for Diana in this half of the season. Itll just come from an unexpected place.“

Are you a Cassie and Adam fan? Or more of the Jake-Cassie variety? Regardless, you’ll have a little action on both fronts — particularly because she nearly kills both of them in two separate occurrences. But be warned: One of the near-deaths is not as it seems.

‘THE SECRET CIRCLE’: CHRIS ZYLKA ON THE ‘EMOTIONAL’ EPISODE TO ANTICIPATE!

Last night’s Jake-light episode is no indication of how much of the recently-promoted Chris Zylka we’ll be seeing in the next few episodes of The Secret Circle. In fact, the actor says fans of the witch hunter can look forward to episode 12, which, he says, “is a big, big, big emotional episode” that will focus mostly on the emotional fallout of Jake being revealed as a witch hunter. “The cast really, really, really shows up and hits it out of the park,” he says. “The overall feeling from everyone after we wrapped that episode was kind of joyful.” But that’s not to say the episode is all sunshine and rainbows. (Do either of those ever happen in Chance Harbor?) “It’s terrifying and scary, and a big emotional scene,” he says. “There are going to be a few answers to some questions that the circle has had in the past nine episodes answered, finally. Or so we think.” And while next week’s episode will mostly feature Jake “lurking,” says Zykla, we’ll learn it’s just strategy. “One thing about Jake is that he never needs the validation of whether or not he’s a good person. He just wants to prove it to himself. So he’s looking over everyone as much as he can until he knows it’s the right time to make a move. That will be in [episode] 12.”
